PREPARING A BLOOD CELL MICROSCOPE SLIDE
  1. Wipe fingertip with individual alcohol swap
  2. Swing arm down to get blood to pool in fingertip, if necessary.
  3. Pierce fingertip with individually-wrapped sterile lancet
  4. Throw away lancet into beaker filled with alcohol.
  5. Squeeze a drop or two of blood onto microscope slide
  6. As pictured, with a second slide, draw the blood along the slide (don't smear it) to spread it out as thinly as possible.
  7. Dip the bloody part of the slide in Wright's stain
  8. Allow to air dry for one minute.
  9. If necessary, VERY GENTLY, rinse off the excess stain under a dripping tap
  10. Your blood slide is ready to be looked at!
