Grade 11 Projectile Lab:

Your task: To investigate some aspect of projectile motion

Groups: 3 students or less

Dates: Friday, February 22

(to be continued on Monday as needed)

To hand in: (one copy per group)

o Title which contains the independent and dependent variables

o Brief description of the experiment, several paragraphs

o Hypothesis

o Data table

o Graphed data, if applicable

o A brief (several paragraph) discussion / explanation of your results.

Materials:

Consider bringing in materials from home to supplement whatever we might have in school. Examples:

• A toy bow and arrow, with plastic arrows, please!
• A spring-loaded gun which fires foam darts or pellets
• A ‘hot wheels’ launcher
• Home-made sling shot made of bungee cords or used bicycle inner tubes
• A piece of wood with nails hammered into it, to use with the elastic bands which we have at school.
